What is NEXT?
NEXT (Network of Enthusiasts eXploring Technology) is the official student organization of LPU-Cavite's College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CCS) — the first recognized student sub-organization under the newly independent college.
We bridge classroom learning and real-world ICT practice through workshops, hackathons, CTFs, tech talks, and industry engagement, building a community of driven, ethical, and globally competitive IT students.
Who founded NEXT?
NEXT was founded by Jazztinn Legaspi, with Nimeesha de Guzman and Sean Collado as co-founders.
The organization was initially planned as a JPCS chapter (Junior Philippine Computer Society). NEXT is now our premier student tech organization under CCS, with plans to grow into a university-wide organization as GDGC (Google Developer Group on Campus) for A.Y. 2027-2028.
Who can join?
Regular membership is open to all bona fide LPU-Cavite students enrolled in any CCS program — BSCS, BSIT, BSIS, or any other CHED-authorized CCS program — regardless of year level.
First-year and junior students are especially encouraged to get involved early, including as Junior Officers mentored by upper-year members. Students outside CCS can still get involved as Associate Members, though voting and officer eligibility are reserved for Regular Members.
How do I apply?
Head to the Apply page and fill out the membership form, then settle the membership fee to be considered a Regular Member in good standing.
Once accepted, you'll be onboarded into our community channels and notified about upcoming events, meetings, and programs.
Is there a membership fee?
Yes. Annual membership dues are Seventy-Five Pesos (₱75.00) per academic year, payable upon application and again on each annual renewal.
Being in good standing (dues paid, no disciplinary issues) is what keeps your voting rights and officer eligibility active.
What events do you hold?
Flagship programs include the NEXT Developers' Summit (our official launch and general assembly), Game On (a 2-day game development jam), the Silicon Valley Hackathon, I-Hack (a cybersecurity CTF competition), and the Developer's Choice Awards recognizing student achievement each semester.
Alongside these, we run recurring workshops like the Dev Starter Pack (Git, GitHub, deployment) and Career Starter Pack (LinkedIn, technical interviews, networking). Schedules are announced through our socials and community channels.
